Applying to La Pradera is simpler than you might think.
This community participates in the federal affordable-housing tax-credit program, which keeps rents below market for qualifying households. Here is what that means for you, in plain language.
Open to everyone who qualifies
La Pradera welcomes individuals and households of every kind. Eligibility is based on household income and size, never on age. Call our office to confirm details for your household.
Income limits apply
Household income must fall below limits set each year by HUD for Lea County. The limit depends on household size and changes annually, so we do not publish numbers that could go stale. Call us and we will check your situation in minutes.
How rent works
Rents are capped below market by the program. They are not calculated as a percentage of your income. For today’s exact rents and current availability, please call.
The waitlist
When every home is spoken for, we keep a waitlist and call in order as homes open up. Joining is free, there is no obligation, and we will tell you honestly where you stand.

See the homes and the community building. Office visits are by appointment, so you will have our full attention.

We will give you the application and the exact document checklist. Take it home or fill it out with us. We are glad to help, in English or Spanish.

Verification & move-in
We verify income and household size as the program requires, then review everything with you before you sign. If nothing is open, you go on the waitlist and we call in order.
